Tehran sports fest reveals doc lineup

The 11th edition of the Tehran International FICTS Festival has revealed the documentary lineup.

On Wednesday, the festival organizers announced the titles of 10 full-length documentary films to go on screen at the sports films event.

‘Advantage’ by Mohammad Kart, ‘Zero to Podium’ by Sahar Mosayyebi, ‘Super Marathon’ by Saeed Keshavarz, ‘Mr. Special’ by Mehdi Bargenil and ‘Farshad, the Top Scorer’ by Jafar Sadeqi will represent Iran at the event.

‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ by James Erskine from the UK as well as ‘17’ by Widad Shafakoj from Jordan are also in the lineup.

The list goes on with ‘The Red Green’ by Ersin Kana, ‘Variations of Attack from the Third Zone’ by Sedat Sahin as well as ‘Baglar’ by Melis Birder and Berke Bas, all from Turkey.

The lineup of mid-length and short documentary films includes ‘Amer: An Arabian Legend’ by Jassim Al-Rumaihi from Qatar, ‘Imara’ by Samuel Wanjohi from Kenya and ‘One Goal’ by Yasmin Kidwai from India.

Iranian titles in the mid-length and short documentary lineup are ‘The Philosophy of Football’ by Ali Yekta, ‘The Blue Bird’ by Kaveh Bahrami, ‘Key’ by Mohsen Khanjahani and ‘My Sister Mohaddeseh’ by Amir-Masoud Hosseini.

Organized by the Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs (FICTS), the festival is a part of the World FICTS Challenge that runs in 16 countries around the world.

To be held in collaboration with the National Olympic and Paralympic Committee, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, IRIB and the Tehran Municipality, the Iran edition of the 11th FICTS is slated for January 15-25, 2018.
